Exhibits @ WiLD9 featuring iLCP Photographers

 

Welcome to WILD 9’s Conservation Photography Galleries.  The World Wilderness Congress prides itself on making all aspects of communications a central piece of the congress agenda.  This congress we want to focus on the power of visual communications.  To that effect, working with our partners, we have convened 4 photographic exhibits of world-class photography to help illustrate the imperative of conserving wilderness.

 

Bienvenidos a las exhibiciones fotográficas de Wild 9.  El Congreso Mundial de Áreas Silvestres se enorgullese en reconocer la importancia de las comunicaciones como un tema central del congreso.  Este noveno congreso deseamos enfocarnos a las comunicaciones visuales.  Para ello, hemos invitado a cuatro exhibiciones de calibre internacional que nos ayuden a ilustrar la importancia de conservar las áreas silvestres.

 *The galleries where these exhibits will be displayed are 10 by 15meters and will be a perfect place to meet, relax and network on comfortable couches! 
 

WILD9 EXHIBITS LAUNCHED in MEXICO CITY!

The Wild Wonders of Europe and National Geographic/iLCP WILDSHOTS exhibits are now on display at The Convention Centre of the World Trade Centre.

Wild Shots – 4 years of iLCP and National Geographic Magazine photography.

The iLCP has as its members some of the best photographers in the world.  Among them are some of the top nature photojournalists working with the prestigious National Geographic Magazine.  In the 4 years since the iLCP was created as a platform to recognize photographers who use their skills to help advance conservation agendas, the yellow magazine has published over 54 stories photographed by these talented artists.  The exhibit is a sampler of the amazing work they have produced in that short period of time.

La iLCP tiene como miembros a los fotografos más renombrados del mundo.  Entre ellos se encuentran algunos de los mejores fotoperiodistas de naturaleza que trabajan con la revista National Geographic. En los cuatro años desde la creación de la iLCP, la cual se creó como una plataforma para reconocer el trabajo de aquellos fotógrafos que buscan avanzar temas de conservación a través de su trabajo, la famosa revista amarilla ha publicado 54 historias fotografiadas por estos talentosos artistas.  La exhibición es una muestra del increíble trabajo que ellos han producido en este lapso de tiempo.

 

Wild Wonders of Europe

The Wild Wonders of Europe is the largest photographic initiative to ever take place in Europe and perhaps even the world.  Using 58 photographers as ambassadors from one European country to another, the Wild Wonders missions traveled to every country in Europe capturing the last remnants of wild nature as well as success stories of conservation and survuval all over the continent. The result is an amazing collection of images meant to inform and inspire the 700 million Europeans, and perhaps the whole world.

Las Maravillas Naturales de Europa es el proyecto fotográfico más ambicioso en llevarse a cabo en Europa y quizas en el mundo entero.  Con 58 fotógrafos sirviéndo como embajadores de un país a otro, las Maravillas Naturales viajó a todos los países de Europa para capturar los últimos ejemplos de naturaleza silvestre que aún existen, así como historias exitosas de conservación y superviviencia en todo el continente. El resultado es una impersionante colección de imágenes cuya misión es inspirar a los 700 millones de Europeos y quizás a todo el mundo.

YourSpace at WILD9

 

 

YourSpace is an idea that was born at the LOOK3 Festival of the Photograph , when this was nothing more than a backyard gathering of friends at the home of National Geographic photographer Nick Nichols.  Anyone who showed up to the party was encouraged to show their own work. That spirit of sharing and encouragement continues at the YourSpace exhibit attendees to the Festival can print and display their own photographs in this public exhibit space. LOOK3 has partnered with Wild9 to bring YourSpace to this congress.

YourSpace es una idea que surgió en el festival de la fotografía LOOK3 cuando éste era poco más que una fiesta en la casa del fotografo de National Geographic, Nick Nichols.  Cualquiera que llegara era animado a exhibir su propio trabajo. Ese espíritu de compartir el trabajo y animar a los fotógrafos continúa hoy en día en la exhibición conocida como YourSpace, en la que los delegados que participan en el festival tienen oportunidad de desplegar sus imágenes en público.  Look3 ha creado una alianza con WILD9 para traer YourSpace a este congreso.
