Bridget Besaw

During her years as a newspaper and magazine photographer Bridget Besaw won numerous national press awards for stories on the depletion of natural resources. Her passion for these stories has led to the creation of Besaw Publishing, where Bridget produces imagery as a tool for environmental protection. Bridget works closely with small and large environmental organizations to help them envision, and then produce in-depth photography projects that tell the story of how they are helping to create a sustainable global community.  Besaw Publishing has produced a variety of outreach tools from exhibits to books to online multimedia films about issues such as development threats to northern Maine’s wilderness, loss of working farmland in Maine and restoration of crucial salmon habitat throughout the North Pacific. Bridget’s projects have been supported by National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, The Blue Earth Alliance, The Maine Farmland Trust, Maine Coast Heritage Trust, The Nature Conservancy and The Kittredge Foundation.
