Women Fetching Water in the Himalayas
Women of a village near Almora in the foothills of the Himalayas in Uttakhand, India, gather each morning to fetch water from a spring which becomes slow running and often dries up during the dry part of the year before the monsoons come. Villagers through out this region report lack of water to be an increasing problem as climate change alters rain patterns and makes for more evaporation of water.

Sailboat Construction
Spencel Bradle, a Miskito lobster diver and community leader, learns the fine points of sailboat construction from a fisherman in Sarteneja, Belize. Bradle, a member of a visiting Honduran delegation, is hoping to export the successful artisanal lobster fishing practices to his home along the Moskitio Coast. The Moskito are considering using similar craft in their fishery as they would significantly reduce fuel costs of the outboard motor-only powered boats currently in use.
